The Ramadhan is where the muslims hold their fasting month. This is a 30 day observation of the practice where muslims refrain from eating and drinking from morning until the break-fast at around 7.30pm daily. After the 30 days, they celebrate the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri where there will be open house held at hotels and homes of ministers and government officials to celebrate the new year.

The Chinese celebrates the Chinese New Year, usually around February to usher in the new Lunar year. This is where the country is typically coloured in red and lion dances and cultural performances are held in every major shopping malls as well as hotels to commemorate the event. The Indians observe the Festival of Lights otherwise known as Deepavali as well as Thaipusam where devotees will congregate at Batu Caves each year to take their vow climbing up the 272 steps.

Christmas is celebrated similarly like every part of the world on December 25th while Easter and Good Friday are observed in certain states. In East Malaysia, the Pesta Gawai or the Keaamatan in Sabah is a harvesting festival held in June each year.
