Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim warns that hatred and extremist thinking threaten national unity and stability.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that Malaysia must be safeguarded from divisive ideologies that could undermine social harmony and national stability.

He said the spread of hatred, narrow racial sentiments and the manipulation of religious issues for political gain pose a serious threat to the country’s unity. If left unchecked, such narratives could fuel social tension and weaken public confidence in national institutions.

Anwar подчерк that the government will not tolerate any form of extremism or rhetoric that seeks to divide the people. Instead, strengthening unity, mutual respect and understanding among Malaysia’s diverse communities remains a national priority.

He also called on political leaders and civil society to act responsibly in their statements and actions, emphasising that leadership must unite rather than polarise the rakyat.

“Malaysia can only progress if we stand together as one nation, not if we are torn apart by hatred and prejudice,” he said.
