NEW DELHI : India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has confirmed that the deportation of a Malaysian crime suspect was carried out smoothly and according to protocol. The agency described the handover as efficient, well-coordinated, and in full compliance with legal procedures.
CBI spokesperson stated that the suspect, wanted in connection with cross-border financial crimes, was handed over to Indian authorities without incident. The process involved careful coordination between Malaysian and Indian law enforcement agencies to ensure the suspect’s rights were respected while maintaining security.
“The operation went as planned, with all necessary measures taken to ensure a safe and orderly transfer,” the CBI said. Officials added that such cooperation between countries is vital for tackling transnational crime and maintaining strong legal enforcement frameworks.
Malaysian authorities reportedly worked closely with the CBI to facilitate documentation, transport, and verification procedures. Both sides praised the professionalism and prompt action that allowed the deportation to proceed without delays.
The suspect is now in Indian custody and is expected to face trial for offences related to organised crime and financial fraud. CBI officials reaffirmed their commitment to cross-border collaboration to combat criminal networks and uphold the rule of law.
