JOHOR BAHRU : Two people were injured after an air-conditioning unit suddenly exploded, causing a brief fire and panic at the location. The incident occurred in the late afternoon, drawing an immediate response from emergency services.

Firefighters arrived shortly after receiving a distress call and found that the flames had already been contained using a fire extinguisher. The affected area was secured to prevent further danger, and a safety inspection was carried out.

Both victims suffered burn injuries as a result of the explosion and were promptly taken to hospital for further medical treatment. Their condition was reported as stable.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion, which is believed to be linked to a technical or mechanical fault in the air-conditioning unit. No other injuries were reported, and there was no significant structural damage.
