KUALA LUMPUR : Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today officially launched the National Education Plan (NEP) 2026–2035, outlining a strategic roadmap for Malaysia’s education system over the next decade.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted that the plan aims to make the country’s education system more competitive, innovative, and responsive to the demands of the 21st century. Key priorities include strengthening digital literacy, fostering creativity, and ensuring equitable access to quality education for all segments of society.
“The National Education Plan 2026–2035 is not just a policy guide; it provides a framework for delivering high-quality education that prepares our students for the future,” he said.
The NEP introduces several major initiatives, including skills-based learning modules, continuous professional development for teachers, and enhanced research and innovation programs at both school and higher education levels.
A strong focus on inclusive education ensures that persons with disabilities, rural communities, and low-income families receive equal opportunities to benefit from the country’s education system.
The launch was attended by education ministers, academic leaders, and representatives from the private sector, reflecting a collaborative approach between government, educational institutions, and industry to realize Malaysia’s education goals.
The Prime Minister also called on all stakeholders to actively support the implementation of the plan, emphasizing that consistent efforts are essential for Malaysia to achieve a holistic, innovative, and competitive education system by 2035.
