The Negeri Sembilan government has introduced a new RM1 million KanserCare Fund, which will provide a one-off RM1,000 financial assistance to eligible cancer patients beginning next year.

Aminuddin Harun, when tabling the 2026 State Budget, said the assistance is open to all cancer patients born in Negeri Sembilan, subject to medical certification. The fund is intended to help cover essential needs such as medication, nutrition, transportation and other treatment-related costs.

Aminuddin said the initiative was introduced in response to the rising number of cancer cases in the state, which he described as increasingly concerning. He added that the state remains committed to improving healthcare support for vulnerable groups.

Under the 2026 budget, the state allocated RM640 million, including RM150 million for development, with an estimated deficit of RM30 million. Additional health and welfare provisions include RM500,000 for AV Fistula surgery aid, RM500,000 for orthopaedic implant assistance, and RM220,000 for disability support programmes.
