PUTRAJAYA, Dec 5, 2025 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim warned that no one will be immune from corruption investigations, including officials within his own office, as Malaysia steps up efforts to maintain integrity in public service.

Addressing participants at the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2025 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Anwar emphasized the importance of impartial enforcement across all government agencies.

“If there is any officer from among us who made a mistake, if it’s a small (mistake) then disciplinary action will be taken, and if it’s a big (mistake) there should be readiness from relevant authorities to take action against our own officers because only then we can save our country. So imagine my office, if there is (such a person) I will tell Azam (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki), I will not protect anyone, immediate action must be taken,” he said.

He clarified that this applies to the Chief Secretary to the Government, the Attorney General’s Chambers, and even the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) itself. According to Anwar, enforcement agencies must be ready to act without bias, even against their own personnel.

“This is the highest level of commitment we can show in defending the integrity and cleanliness of our country,” he added, highlighting the government’s determination to uphold public trust.

The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore the administration’s focus on transparency and accountability, ensuring that all enforcement measures are precise and free from favoritism, reinforcing the principle that the law applies equally to all, regardless of rank.
