KUALA LUMPUR : The scheduled Supreme Council meeting of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition was abruptly cancelled today, with top leaders instead set to hold a private gathering at the residence of PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

According to insider sources, the decision to cancel the official meeting was made to allow for a more focused and confidential discussion in a less formal setting. The leaders are expected to address the coalition’s strategic direction, internal leadership matters, and preparations in response to the current political landscape.

Observers suggest that this move is intended to ease internal tensions and align the positions of PN component parties, which have been facing differing opinions on leadership structure and political strategies ahead of upcoming elections.

The gathering is expected to include senior representatives from Bersatu, PAS, and other coalition parties. Key topics likely to dominate discussions include proposals for establishing a PN presidential council and defining Muhyiddin’s role within the new leadership framework.

While the meeting is informal, any agreements or decisions made could have significant implications for PN’s political trajectory in the near term. As of now, the coalition leadership has not issued an official statement regarding the cancellation of the Supreme Council meeting.

Political analysts continue to closely watch these developments, viewing internal dynamics within PN as a decisive factor for the coalition’s stability and influence at the national level.
