KUBANG PASU – Chaos erupted on social media after four fully registered temples were suddenly labeled as illegal, in what appears to be a **calculated attempt to damage the reputation of Kedah’s Menteri Besar, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
An individual using the name “Aman Muhammad” is at the center of the controversy, spreading false information with apparent malicious intent, claiming there are 498 illegal temples across the state. Authorities and temple representatives insist these claims are entirely false and baseless.
Kumaresan, along with the four temple chairpersons, lodged an official police report with Royal Malaysia Police, presenting evidence that the temples are fully registered and authorized by the landowners for use as places of worship. “I was only there to deliver aid to fire victims, yet suddenly this massive slander emerged,” the representative said.
He emphasized that the Kubang Pasu District Council never declared the temples illegal, and the allegations are a deliberate attempt to twist facts and attack the state government.
“These four temples are legal, registered, and recognized. This type of false claim not only tarnishes the government’s image but also confuses the multiracial community,” he added.
The incident highlights how places of worship can be used as political weapons. The representative urged the authorities to take immediate action against those spreading false information. “We hope PDRM acts swiftly. Such slander cannot be allowed to spread unchecked,” he stressed.
As this issue goes viral, the public is urged to verify information on social media carefully and not be swayed by politically motivated falsehoods
