KUALA LUMPUR: Pandan Member of Parliament, Rafizi Ramli, has praised Umno for its careful and strategic handling of internal party issues. In a recent statement, Rafizi noted that despite frequent political criticism, Umno has been able to maintain stability within its leadership and prevent internal conflicts from damaging its public image.
Rafizi emphasized that the party’s organized internal management allows it to withstand pressures from multiple sides, including competition from coalition partners and opposition parties.
He added that Umno uses smart strategies to resolve internal disagreements and make decisions in a controlled manner, avoiding public disputes that could harm the party’s reputation.
According to Rafizi, Umno’s success in managing internal matters has also helped sustain the confidence of Malay voters, who form the party’s core support base. Even amid heated discussions on election strategies and seat allocations, the party has managed to maintain unity at the highest leadership levels.
He also highlighted Umno’s leadership approach of using internal consultations and strategic communication to resolve issues quietly, preventing them from spilling over into the media—an approach considered essential in Malaysia’s competitive political landscape.
Rafizi concluded that effective internal management not only strengthens the party but also allows Umno to focus on national issues and its agenda for the upcoming elections. He added that other political parties could learn from Umno’s example in handling internal conflicts efficiently and prudently.
His remarks come at a time when Umno continues to play a key role in the unity government while facing intense competition from the opposition and recurring internal challenges. Political analysts say that strong internal management is a crucial factor in keeping Umno relevant and competitive in Malaysian politics.
