The government has begun disbursing the second round of RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above, starting today. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that this round of aid, valid until the end of the year, now allows recipients to purchase frozen food items in addition to other essential goods.
This move is part of the government’s effort to expand the types of items that can be purchased using cashless aid, giving recipients more flexibility in meeting their daily needs.
In addition, RM150 million from unclaimed SARA funds has been earmarked for vulnerable groups, ensuring that previously unused aid reaches those in greater need.
The RM100 aid is automatically credited to recipients’ MyKad accounts, with no application required, and can be used at approved stores throughout 2026. Authorities have reminded the public to use the aid responsibly, prioritising essential and daily necessities.
