Thaipusam: 10 Major Roads in Ipoh Closed and Diverted

IPOH : The Perak police have announced that 10 major roads in Ipoh will be temporarily closed and traffic diverted to accommodate Thaipusam processions and ensure public safety.

The closures, which will take place on the day of the festival, are aimed at preventing congestion and facilitating smooth movement for participants and devotees visiting temples.

Alternative routes have been identified, and signage will be put up to guide motorists.\

Police have urged drivers to plan their journeys in advance and follow instructions from traffic personnel. “We advise motorists to use alternative routes and avoid the affected areas during the festival to ensure everyone’s safety,” said a senior officer.

Local authorities also highlighted that public transport options will be increased to assist devotees and reduce vehicle congestion in the city center. Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated with official announcements regarding timings and road closures.
