KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3, 2025 — Three ministers in the Unity Government were officially sworn in today for their second term as Senators (Ahli Dewan Negara), allowing them to continue serving in the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The ministers — Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (Home Minister), Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir (Higher Education Minister), and Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Religious Affairs) — took their oaths before Senate President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah during a ceremony held in the Dewan Negara.

Their initial appointments as Senators began on 3 December 2022. With today’s reappointment, their new term will run from 3 December 2025 to 2 December 2028.

According to the Senate’s official agenda, the swearing-in of the three ministers was listed as the primary item for the session. No additional senators were appointed during the ceremony.

Senate President Awang Bemee expressed confidence in the ministers’ experience and encouraged them to continue upholding the responsibilities entrusted to them.

This reappointment also ensures continuity in key portfolios within the current administration, following the completion of their previous three-year Senate terms.
